These slow days give me room to learn. And to experiment and to try new things.
Like how to develop film in a janky bathroom while Alamae naps on the couch and the boys are playing with friends and Sena listens to musicals while studying environmental science.
I find myself trying to make sense of negatives hanging from the shower rod on a makeshift setup using an old dresser handle.
And what comes out is tinged in blue and is scanned with speckles of dust.
I think about editing each little speck out, but decide to let them stay.
Because I like the dust. And because the dust and the dog hairs and the little faces with scrapes and hints of lunch are all a part of this.
Maybe the next time more faces will be in focus.
And I'll keep finding my way to forums where strangers with experience answer my questions.
I'll discover some answers on my own through trial and error.
These days in between will fill up.
Maybe one day I'll have all the answers.
